THE HGVNET LIBRARY

RETURN

INTERNET ARCHIVE
Singlehandedly the most valuable asset on the internet; MILLIONS of downloadable items all available in this library that's remained free to use thanks to donors. Also incorporates the Wayback machine which stores captures of web pages, preserving websites that are no longer available.

K-PUNK
The late Mark Fisher's blog from 2003-15, in which he used the internet as a tool to explore his cultural and philosophical genius, developing his work with a collaborative transparency amongst his readers.

WIKILEAKS
Founded in 2006 by Julian Assange, this site shares confidential information disclosed by bureaucratic insiders. Whilst the site is no longer able to publish new documents, it does have a sizeable (yet depleting) archive of very telling information. This may be a no-brainer to some but some of us at HGVNET had no idea this site was still publicly available in 2025.

AFROPUNK
Website of the Brooklyn-based festival which publishes articles on politics, history and wider culture centred around Black America but still relevant universally.

NYA TIMES-CONTRARIAN
Neil Young's officially curated news website, updated daily with dedicated sections on protest, climate, corporate media, women and his model railway; soundtracked by a cut from his six-decade-spanning discography available to stream in lossless quality via a little tab at the top of the page.

THE WIRE
The only music journalists worth listening to in the present day if you want to hear something new.
